creative care continuum

We partner with leading clinics, treatment centers, and specialized practices to clear the biggest hurdle artists face: access. Our Referral Partners have committed to specific pathways for the theatrical community, often including expedited intake, sliding scale options, or specialized culturally competent tracks for performers.

The theatrical schedule is not a 9-to-5 job, and standard mental health care often fails to accommodate the reality of rehearsals, tech weeks, and performance schedules. Our partners work with us to dismantle the specific barriers that keep artists sick.

Before a clinic, practice, or organization is added to the Creative Care Continuum, they undergo a review process led by our Clinical Advisory Council to ensure their values align with ours. We look for active anti-racist policies, LGBTQIA+ affirmative environments, visibility for disabled artists, and a refusal to perpetuate weight stigma or diet culture.

If you are struggling to find care that understands who you are and what you do, the BMHF C.C.C. is your first step toward a system that actually works for you.

C.C.C. Pathways

We ask our prospective partners to pledge to at least one of three dedicated pathways to better serve the theatrical community. You can begin with a single track and expand your involvement at any time:

Pathway 1: The Advocacy & Education Ally. This pathway focuses on preventative, radical psychoeducation. Partners commit to providing pro-bono expertise directly to the community through virtual masterclasses, webinars, or targeted panels, actively equipping artists with the industry-literate tools they need to navigate the gig economy safely.

Pathway 2: The Clinical Referral Anchor. Artists in active distress cannot afford to languish on standard, months-long waitlists. This pathway establishes your facility as a trusted, rigorously vetted destination for BMHF’s direct, expedited referral pipelines. Partners commit to getting artists who are navigating severe mental health crises or eating disorders into safe, affirming care faster.

Pathway 3: The Comprehensive Partner. For institutions ready to go all-in, this pathway is a seamless combination of Pathways 1 and 2. Partners commit to actively disrupting toxic theatrical norms through preventative education, while simultaneously serving as a direct, expedited clinical safety net for artists when they need it most.
